Volunteer

Currently enrolled, as well as prospective students, often request contact with our alumni. Applicants want to know why you chose this school, what was your experience like here, and what you are doing now. Current students have questions about dissertation and internship, starting a practice, passing the licensing exam and future employment.

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities I’ve offered in the past, or would like to initiate with your help.

  • Establish an alumni mentoring program matching alumni with current 4th year and beyond students to provide support as students move into the more professional aspects of the program.
  • Develop a contact bank of alumni who can respond to prospective applicant questions via email.
  • Participate at community events such as Open Houses for prospective students, workshops on the licensing exam, starting a practice, selecting a post doc.
  • Be a guest speaker in a class.
  • Be on the planning committee for reunions, lecture series and continued planning of the Alumni Program.
  • Help select students for scholarships.

If you’d like to participate in any of these volunteer opportunities, or have ideas for other ways to be involved, please phone Melissa Delaney at 510 841-9230 ext. 170 or email mdelaney@wi.edu
