Dr. Pallak was a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology (specializing in Social Psychology) at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. before moving to California to pursue a career in clinical psychology. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the Wright Institute, as well as at California School of Professional Psychology and at the Professional School of Psychology, and a Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley (School of Social Welfare and Extension Division). She has served as Assistant Clinical Director of the Adolescent Day Treatment Center, California Pacific Medical Center; Director of Clinical Training, Psychological Services Center of the California School of Professional Psychology; as well as Director of the Family Violence Institute of the Psychological Services Center. She also has been a consultant to the Family Therapy Clinic at California-Pacific Medical Center and a facilitator of staff case conferences for Lincoln Child Center and WestCoast Children's Center.

Dr. Pallak maintains a private practice in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adolescents and adults in San Francisco. She leads workshops in domestic violence and facilitates a dissertation proposal seminar for analytic candidates at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.
