General Instructions for
the Wright Institute Online Application

Application Requirements

Carefully review all application requirements at: wi.edu/admission-ma-info.

Application Procedures

Please use standard and proper capitalization throughout the application.

You do not have to complete your application in one sitting. The application is available from any device that can access the Internet. Once you are registered in the system, the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology application may be accessed from www.wi.edu/applicants.

Tabs will turn green automatically once all page data are saved and complete.

To save data entered on any page of the application, the button (usually named "Save") at the bottom right of the page must be clicked. If another tab is clicked without clicking the save button, the updated form data will be lost.

Click the tabs at the top of the page to continue to the next page.

If you have omitted a required field or entered data incorrectly, changes you need to make appear on the page. Enter the correct data, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click the save button.

It is critical to click the Logout tab on completion of the session.

Check your application carefully. When you are satisfied with it and are ready to send it to us (all tabs will be green), click the 'submit' tab at the bottom of the last page. This saves your data in their final form. Once this is done, your application is on its way to the admissions committee, and you can no longer make changes to it.

Once your application has been submitted, you can check the status of all required documents by logging in at www.wi.edu/applicants. You may also print a copy of your completed application.

Although general data collected on the system may be used in statistical studies and reports designed to assist the institution with planning, any information bearing your personal identification is disclosed only to the admissions committee.

Application Deadline

The Counseling Psychology program admits a select number of highly qualified students each year for the fall semester only. Applications are reviewed after each of the deadlines stated below.

Priority deadline: February 1
Standard deadline: May 1

We encourage all applicants to apply by the priority deadline because it is possible that the program will be full before the standard application deadline. If space is available following the standard deadline, we will evaluate newly submitted applications on a rolling basis until all slots are filled.

We will invite selected applicants for individual interviews. The interviews help us get a better sense of what attracts an applicant to our program and to graduate education in counseling, and to evaluate whether the Wright Institute is a good fit.

If you have any questions about the admissions process please contact admissions@wi.edu
