The Institute is housed in a beautiful three-story English Tudor building that underwent a $3.5 million renovation in 2000 - 2001. The building meets the highest seismic safety standards, is ADA compliant, and has new environmentally sound electrical, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning systems. A significant feature of the renovation is a large meeting room used for Institute events as well as activities, such as lectures and continuing education workshops, that bring the wider mental health community to the Institute.
The San Francisco Bay Area offers a multicultural, cosmopolitan environment that attracts an extraordinary community of psychologists, scholars and other intellectuals from around the world. Students benefit from the area's abundance of clinical training settings, as well as leading educational and research institutions including the University of California, Berkeley (one block from the Wright Institute), the University of California, San Francisco, and Stanford University.
The neighborhood restaurants, cafes, bookstores and shops that surround the UC Berkeley campus create a vibrant social and intellectual atmosphere. Students also enjoy the region's array of sporting events, recreational facilities, world class museums, theater and musical events, regional and national parks, and Pacific Coast beaches.
