Dr. Meena Saleh is a clinical and forensic neuropsychologist in private practice. In 2013, Dr. Saleh earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University, with academic emphases in both Clinical Neuropsychology and in Health Psychology. Pre-doctoral internship training at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York focused on medical rehabilitation following brain injury, spinal cord injury, exacerbation of movement and/or demyelinating disorders, amputation, and many other medical conditions. The completed APPCN match post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at NYU Epilepsy Center focused on assessment of a breadth of neurologic conditions, as well as Intracarotid Amobarbital (Wada) Procedures, language and motor mapping during awake craniotomy, and extra-operative brain mapping. After returning to California, Dr. Saleh developed a vibrant neuropsychology practice, providing clinical or forensic, cognitive and/or psychodiagnostic evaluations to a variety of referral sources throughout the state. The practice's main focus is on neurocognitive disorders related to Alzheimer's disease, vascular disease, frontotemporal degeneration, Lewy bodies, or traumatic brain injury. Other primary or comorbid issues addressed include somatic symptom disorders; potential malingering or factitious disorder; chronic pain; sleep apnea and sleep-wake disorder; neurodevelopmental disorders; excoriation and self-injury; childhood/adult physical, sexual, and/or financial abuse; conservatorship; posttraumatic stress and adjustment disorders; dissociative identity and related disorders; psychotic, complex mood, and hoarding disorders; personality disorders; substance use disorders; and inaccessibility to proper health care. In addition to assessment, Dr. Saleh provides short-term support to patients and their families for adjustment to illness, as well as education about neuropsychology services to a breadth of clients. Dr. Saleh maintains a strong understanding of LGBTQI+ issues and offers multi-culturally informed assessment in Persian (Farsi), Spanish, and Mandarin. Research activities are focused on Persian neuropsychological test construction and related issues.
