Dr. Sekoff is a graduate of the Baltimore-Washington/ Florida Psychoanalytic Institute. For a decade, he was Director of Psychological Medicine for the Department of Family and Community Medicine of the University of Miami Medical School. There his work included training medical residents and students, chairing the admissions committee, consult-liaison services, leading Balint seminars, and conducting pregnancy and parenting groups.

He is currently in the practice of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in Berkeley. He is extensively involved in supervision and teaching. His writing, speaking and teaching interests have included: psychosomatics and medical psychology; film, photography, and cultural studies; the intersection of psychoanalysis and social theory; sexuality; as well as object- and subject-relations theories.

In addition to teaching at the Wright Institute, Dr. Sekoff is also on the teaching faculty of the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute, the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, and is a supervising analyst at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.
